Hospital de la Santa Caridad (Charity Hospital)

During the 17th century Seville experienced a time of lights and shadows. Besides the wealth provided by the trade with America, we can also find social dramas of poverty and epidemics. In this context a local patron such as Miguel de Mañara made possible the construction of this outstanding charity hospital. It was artistically embellished with masterpieces of Baroque paintings and sculptures.
